The Vegetable Garden

Chef picking fresh vegetablesGetting fresh vegetables can be a problem for any chef and we try to source local producers and growers wherever possible, such as Isle of Wight Garlic. But we also grow vegetables ourselves in the vegatable garden.

The garden is managed organically and produces salads, tomatoes, peas, marrow, beans, onions, courgettes, squash, cabbage and herbs too numerous to mention. These all find their way onto the cafe menu.

Having our own vegetable garden so close means that salads in particular are freshly picked each day and retain all the taste associated with organically grown foods. As crops ripen the chef produces new menus and dishes to suit the season, an ideal way to enjoy what the vegetable garden has to offer.
